"You and I will see it unfold together..."
What an adventure it has been! These past four months I have spent interning at the Hickam Main Child Development Center on Joint Pearl Harbor/Hickam Base in Hawaii. Each even in my life adds to my identity and is creating the person God has called me to be. Each day does that as well. Even if it might feel like life is stagnant at the moment...things are happening.
I am back in Sacramento, California, and the past two days of being here have felt different than ever before. I feel like where I am is where I am meant to be at the moment. And that is a great feeling...something that I have struggled to feel while in college. I feel a bountiful amount of hope, finally. I can trust- Trust that God is showing me how to live every day and what to do with my time. I can already see good things are happening.
I see a different direction for my blog as well... I have changed and thus my blog will at the same time. I am not sure what that will look like yet, but you and I will see it unfold together as more of the person I am becoming shows through the words and pictures.
If 1 person reads this, or 100 people, I do not care. This is to document my journey on this short life that we share together, whether you know it or not.

Quote about my career
"Child development experts know that the most basic and strongest values, worldview, and self-perspectives are deeply entrenched within us at a very early age. Perhaps this is why the Scriptures so clearly and passionately call us to 'speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves'. Proverbs 31:8"

What This Job Has Taught Me
1. EACH DAY IS A NEW DAY- Even if you have a bad day, tomorrow is a new day to try a new strategy and the past is forgotten.
2. THE BEGINNING IS THE HARDEST- Persevere and tough it out- it will get better!
3. DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE'S NEGATIVE ATTITUDES AFFECT YOU- Attitudes are contagious, let yours be one that is worth catching!
4. DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN THE GOSSIP- Even if 'everyone' is doing it. It lowers the employee morale and contributes nothing positive.
5. BE KIND TO CO-WORKERS- Make them feel appreciated and loved.
6. DON'T FORGET TO LAUGH- When things are stressful and chaotic, try to smile and laugh, after all there is no use in wasting your time feeling frustrated.

Mango Tree
Today at the center, 4 mangos fell from the mango tree on the playground. I took 2 home. It reminded me of this song. Another great thing about living here!
